Tired of digging through source code or reloading in debug mode just to find a field's technical name or a view's ID? Odoo Dev Tools shows you the technical details of whatever is on your screen, without leaving Odoo. It works with Odoo 15 to 19, Community and Enterprise (SaaS versions included), and it does not modify Odoo: it only reads it, so it never breaks a view. The panel follows your Odoo's light or dark theme. What's included: Inspector: Ctrl + right-click a field, label, button, list cell or kanban card to see its technical name, type, widget, context, domain and its invisible / readonly / required conditions with their current value. No debug mode needed. Technical names on screen (Alt+Shift+N): shows the name of every field, button and column right on the view, and lists the hidden fields with their condition and where they would appear. Search and open (Alt+Shift+F): type res.partner,7, an external ID such as sale.view_order_form, or the name of a model, menu, action or view, and open it instantly. Side panel (Alt+Shift+D), floating or docked: - Record: every field of the record with its raw value and its properties (computed, related, readonly, required, stored and the modules that define it). Filter them, edit values (with a search box for many2one fields) and follow many2one, one2many and many2many relations without losing your place. - View: action, view and external ID, inheritance tree, combined arch and the context as color-highlighted JSON. - Method: call public model methods with JSON arguments. See the result or the traceback, plus the equivalent Python and JavaScript code. History included. - Reports: live HTML preview (reload it after editing the QWeb) and the PDF in one click. - Modules: upgrade or install the module behind the screen you are on, and get a warning when the code on disk is newer than what is installed. XPath generator: for any field or button, get an XPath that matches a single node of the combined view, see which module added it, and get the inheritance XML ready to paste (after, before, inside, replace or attributes). Extras: switch between normal, debug and assets mode in one click, turn on Odoo Enterprise's dark mode and set your own background image on the apps screen. Privacy: no data is collected or sent to any external server. The extension only talks to the Odoo instance in your tab, with your session and your permissions.
