Built for tech professionals and job seekers who are learning constantly and want that effort to count. ## Real job matches from what you are learning right now This is the part that changes how learning feels. As your skills grow, Cortex matches them against live job postings and shows you where you already fit. You do not have to go looking — the match count updates in the popup as your skills move, and Cortex tells you when new roles open up on the skills you just learned. Open **Role Fit** in the popup to see: - **Roles ranked by how well your skills overlap the posting**, so the best fits come first. - **Which of your skills the posting asks for**, highlighted on every role, next to the ones you are still missing. You can see exactly what is carrying you and what to learn next. - **Role models** — Full-Stack Engineer, Platform Engineer, Data Engineer, ML Engineer, Frontend Engineer — to explore matches by career direction. - **A skill filter** so you can match on everything you know, only what you are actively learning, or only what you are ready to claim in an interview. - **Salary, location, seniority, and employment type** on the roles that publish them. ## Act on a match without leaving the page Every matched role comes with the next step attached. From the role card: - **Resume Craft** — open Ambitology with a resume already being tailored to that exact posting. - **Fit Analysis** — score your knowledge and experience against that posting and see the gaps before you apply. - **Apply** — open the posting and go, or queue several and work through them. Cortex carries the job with you, so no page has to ask you again which role you meant. Ambitology's application tools can then prepare and autofill your application details, so a promising match becomes a submitted application in minutes rather than an afternoon. ## How your skills are built 1. Add or approve the technical websites you want Cortex to monitor. 2. Read documentation, engineering blogs, tutorials, or interview resources as usual. 3. Cortex identifies relevant technical keywords and records meaningful learning activity on the pages you approve. 4. Your active reading contributes to a familiarity score for related skills. 5. When a skill is ready, add it to your Interview Ready list — or enable Auto Mode to acquire it automatically. Your skills move through three simple stages: - **Exploring** — relevant technologies discovered while reading a page. - **Learning** — skills supported by ongoing reading activity and familiarity progress. - **Interview Ready** — skills you have acquired as part of your career-ready skill list. Each Learning and Interview Ready skill includes a familiarity progress bar out of 100. The score reflects meaningful reading activity over time, including focused reading time, repeated engagement with relevant content, and continued learning across articles. Revisiting the same article can count as additional learning activity without creating duplicate URLs in your record. ## Your AI learning memory and skill gatekeeper Cortex gives you a deliberate way to decide which skills belong in your career story. Use it to: - See which technologies you are actively learning. - Track familiarity across frameworks, tools, cloud services, AI concepts, databases, infrastructure, system design, and more. - Add skills manually when needed. - Select Learning skills and click **Acquire Skills** to mark them Interview Ready. - Use Auto Mode to acquire a Learning skill automatically when it reaches a familiarity score of 85/100. - Keep an evidence-based skill foundation for your career profile. ## Explore your personal Skill Graph Visit [ambitology.com/dashboard?tab=skill-graph](https://ambitology.com/dashboard?tab=skill-graph) to see your personal Skill Graph: a visual map of your acquired skills, the learning evidence behind each one, and the role directions they can support. Explore skill-to-skill connections, then switch to **Role Model** to see how your skills map to directions such as Full-Stack Engineer, Platform Engineer, Data Engineer, ML Engineer, and Frontend Engineer — and jump straight from a role model into a job search for it. It helps you understand your personal career opportunity, see the connections within your learning, and decide where to invest your next effort. These are career-planning signals, not guarantees of job qualification or employment. ## Privacy and control Ambitology Cortex works only on websites you explicitly approve. It does not monitor all browsing activity, collect general browsing history, read passwords or form entries, or use your data for advertising. Technical keyword detection and normal reading activity tracking happen locally in Chrome, using Chrome's on-device AI capabilities when available. During normal reading, article content and activity remain on your device. When you choose to acquire a skill, Cortex securely syncs the selected Interview Ready skill and its relevant learning metadata, such as familiarity score, reading time, article count, and unique source URLs. Job matching uses the skills in your account, never your browsing. You can remove or change skills at any time. Ambitology does not sell personal data or transfer it for unrelated purposes. ## Permissions - **Storage** — saves local skills, reading activity, approved websites, preferences, and pending syncs. - **Identity** — lets you optionally sign in to connect acquired skills with your Ambitology account. - **Scripting and optional site access** — analyzes only the technical websites you choose to approve. - **Alarms** — supports local activity updates and safe retrying of a user-approved skill sync when connectivity is unavailable.
