Abacaxi is a platform to assist people in their job search by using on-device LLM inference to generate resumes and cover letters via the Abacaxi Desktop App (https://abacaxiapp.com/). The Abacaxi Chrome extension acts a secure interface between the desktop app and job postings viewed by the user in the Chrome Browser, while automating desktop app and job posting form input. The extension pairs with the desktop app to create job applications from user-selected online job listings, entirely on-device. Create Applications from any job listing Open the extension popup on any job board or company career site, and click Create Application. Abacaxi creates an application record for the desktop app with the job title, company, location, description, qualifications, salary, and application URL, using an on-device AI model in the desktop app. Preview before you save Review the job details in the popup before saving. Once saved, the application lives in the Abacaxi desktop app, where you can build, edit, and manage your applications over time. Autofill application forms When you open the extension on an application form, the Autofill tab detects the form fields and fills your contact information (name, email, phone, and more) from the profile stored locally in the desktop app — highlighting the fields it fills. For long-answer questions ("Tell us about yourself"), Abacaxi can generate a tailored answer with AI and fill it in for you. Private by design — everything stays local The extension sends job data to the Abacaxi desktop app through Chrome Native Messaging — a local channel on your machine. No job data, page content, or profile information is ever uploaded to any server. No data collection, no analytics, no tracking. The job you are working on lives in temporary session storage and is cleared when your browser session ends. Your profile and applications live only in your local desktop app within an encrypted database. Requirements • The Abacaxi desktop app must be installed.
