Overview

Download original-quality images and videos from Bluesky posts and profiles, one click or in bulk. Optional private library.

Bluesky Media Downloader: Download the pictures and videos from Bluesky posts in their original quality. A download button appears beside every post that has media. One click saves it. Original quality Bluesky shows re-compressed copies of images. This extension fetches the file the author uploaded, so a JPG stays a JPG, a PNG stays a PNG and nothing is converted to WEBP. If you prefer PNG, there is a setting for it. GIFs are saved as GIFs, and videos as MP4. One post, one click: Posts with several images save every image, named so they never overwrite each other. Quoted posts: clicking the button on a post saves what that post shows, including the quoted pictures or video. File names are built from the account, the date the post was made, the post ID and the picture number. Reorder them in the settings. Choose a subfolder, group files by account, or ask where to save each file. A whole profile Open a profile and press the button at the bottom right. It tells you how many posts have pictures or video, lets you pick a date range, and saves everything as one ZIP with a sources.csv listing every post. The posts are read from the author's server, so there is no scrolling and it reaches posts of any age. Feeds, lists and likes On a feed, list or likes page the same button scrolls and collects what is there. Save to Musepile instead (optional): Musepile is a private reference library that runs in your browser. Set "The button on a post" to save to Musepile, to download, or to do both. Your library keeps the original files with the creator, caption and link, and can search by colour and by what is in the picture. It needs no account, and you can keep the files in a folder on your computer. You can ignore it completely: the extension works as a plain downloader. Private: No account, no ads, no sign-in. Downloads go to and from Bluesky and the account's own server only. The developer receives nothing about what you download. If you use Musepile, the post link is handed to musepile.com, which reads the post from Bluesky in your browser. Anonymous usage counts are off unless you turn them on in the settings. Settings Click the extension icon to change the file name pattern, subfolder, image format, bulk output (one ZIP or separate files), where the button saves to, and whether the profile button shows on pages. Not affiliated with Bluesky.
