And every time you want an AI to do it, you explain the workflow from scratch. Agent Alley Recorder is a workflow recorder for that browser work. You do the task once in Chrome. It keeps the steps on your device and writes an AI skill you can hand to Claude, ChatGPT, or an AI agent you already run. How it works 1. Press the toolbar button and record the tab. Clicks, typing, page titles, URLs, and a selector for each element are noted as you go. 2. Stop, then open the library. Press SKILL.md. You get a Claude skill: a SKILL.md file with a name, a description, the steps, and the inputs, plus a Playwright script you can use for browser automation. Or press Agent for an agent definition with a goal, tools, and triggers. 3. Read it, edit it, and export a zip. That file is the macro you keep. You do not re-explain the workflow the next time. Use it for - Updating a weekly report in Google Sheets and downloading the sheet - Posting a new product to Shopify - Filling the same CRM form - Any Chrome task you repeat and then describe to an AI agent Privacy Passwords, card numbers, and one-time codes are not recorded. Those fields are stored empty, with a reason, and the skill tells the agent to ask you at runtime. The same drop applies to checksum-valid card numbers, CVV-style phrases, and password text in the page or the URL. Screenshots stay off unless you turn them on, and they stay on this device. Free, and local-first The extension is free. Recordings and drafts stay in Chrome on this machine. By default the SKILL.md is written here, with no page content sent anywhere. If you want a model to refine the wording, open Settings, choose Anthropic or OpenAI, paste your own API key, and press Save settings. Only then does Chrome ask to contact that provider, and the request is the redacted timeline — not screenshots, passwords, cards, or one-time codes. If that call fails, the on-device draft remains.
