Octa32 — 32-Band Equalizer
Overview
32-band equalizer for any tab, with a live spectrum analyzer, output meters, a clip limiter and your own presets.
Octa32 is a 32-band graphic equalizer for the sound of any Chrome tab: music, videos, podcasts, streams and calls. Version 2.0 is a full rebuild: faders that mean what they say, a live spectrum analyzer and a built-in limiter. FEATURES - 32 one-third-octave bands, 16 Hz to 20 kHz - Precise response: set +6 dB at 1 kHz and you hear +6 dB at 1 kHz. In a typical graphic equalizer, neighboring bands pile up and the sound ends up stronger than the faders show. Octa32 corrects for that, so the curve on screen is the sound you hear. - Live spectrum analyzer behind the curve, lined up with the faders - Output peak meters, a clip light and a readout of how hard the limiter is working - Built-in limiter that catches peaks before they clip, so big boosts stay clean - Auto trim: lowers the gain by the curve's biggest boost, in one click - 15 built-in presets, plus your own: draw a curve and save it - Bypass to compare with the original sound (press B) - Undo and redo (Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+Shift+Z) - Works on several tabs at once, with an ON badge on each tab it's running on - Keyboard shortcut Alt+Shift+E turns the current tab on or off (change it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts) HOW TO USE 1. Open a tab that's playing sound and click the Octa32 icon. 2. Click Turn on. 3. Drag across the faders, or draw straight across the graph. Double-click a fader to reset it. Up and down arrows change a band, left and right arrows move between bands, and the mouse wheel works on any fader. PRIVACY Octa32 processes audio inside your browser and plays it straight back. It never records, stores or uploads audio, makes no network requests, and has no analytics or ads. Your settings and presets stay on your device. UPDATING FROM 1.x Your saved curve and the classic presets sound the same as before. The faders now show the curve's true shape, which is often higher than version 1 displayed. GOOD TO KNOW - Chrome doesn't allow audio capture on its own pages (chrome://) or on the Chrome Web Store. - Some protected streaming services block tab audio capture.
