Office Click Collector

This is a chrome extension designed for internal data collection on users’ behaviors on Microsoft Office Online (officeappls.live.com). The goal of this extension is to help us collect users’ mouse actions as well as document changes when performing some given task on Office Online, specifically Word Online. The process of the data collection is: we first give out documents to the users, we then will assign them some specific task, for example formatting a part of the word document. The user will then perform the given task while our extension keeps tracks of the user’s actions on the Office webpage as well as the changes made by the users. Once finished, the extension will then send the collected data to a server hosted by Microsoft. Note, no personal identifiable information is collected in this process and the users will sign a consent form before performing the task.
