YouTongue finds moments in YouTube videos where your word is spoken in natural speech — speeches, briefings, parliamentary debates, science talks — and plays them right where you are reading. Not a text-to-speech voice: real accents, real tempo, real intonation. Filter by American or British English on youtongue.me. HOW IT WORKS • Select a word or a short phrase (1–4 English words) on any web page. • Right-click → "Hear “…” on YouTongue", or press Alt+Shift+Y (Option+Shift+Y on Mac). • A small card opens next to the text with clips where the word is spoken. Pick another word — the card switches without reloading. • Close it with Esc, the × button, or a click anywhere else. • Or click the YouTongue button in the toolbar and type a word. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No access to your pages in the background. The extension does nothing until you ask it to, and then only on the current tab. • Only the word you selected is sent to youtongue.me to search for clips. • No account, no tracking, no ads in the extension. Clips are played with the official YouTube player.
