Overview

Tells you whether a recipe works for you — allergies, conditions and everyone at your table — on the page you're already reading.

nunu checks the recipe you are looking at against the way you actually eat. Tell it once, in your own words — "I'm vegetarian and I have IBS, my husband takes a statin" — and it checks every recipe you come across against that. Not a score out of ten. One line, naming the ingredient responsible: Not vegetarian — the oil-packed tuna is the dish. High-FODMAP: shallot, garlic, butter beans. Start with the shallot. Sodium is 1,170mg a serving, worth watching with high blood pressure. It knows the ones people get caught by: the anchovy in Worcestershire sauce, the animal rennet in Parmigiano, the gluten in most stock cubes. And it knows that garlic-infused oil is the safe one, not the thing to avoid. THE OTHER HALF: WHAT TO ADD Most of the time a recipe is not a problem, it is just thin. So nunu also suggests one thing worth adding — a head of broccoli in the mac and cheese, a squeeze of lemon over the lentils so you absorb the iron, black pepper with the turmeric. It adds, it never tells you to swap out the thing you came for, and it never suggests something your profile rules out. It counts the different plants in a recipe, and across your week. Thirty a week is the number the gut-microbiome research settled on, and herbs, spices, nuts, beans and grains all count toward it — which is the part nobody knows, and what makes it reachable. WHY AN EXTENSION It works on the page you are already on, which matters more than it sounds: most large recipe sites refuse an automated request, so a tool that fetches pages from a server simply cannot read them. Your own browser is already past all of that. There is no link to paste and nothing to retype. It reads a page only when you click the button or use the right-click menu. It never reads pages you have not asked about, and it does not touch your browsing history. Free. Nothing in it is medical advice, and it never claims that food treats or cures anything.
