Overview
Scans and cleans suspicious website notification permissions. Protects against spam and scam ads in real-time.
Are you tired of receiving fake virus alerts, click-bait advertisements, and adult content notifications on your desktop? Deceptive websites often trick you into clicking "Allow Notifications" using fake captcha prompts or urgent security warnings. Once allowed, they flood you with annoying spam popups. NotiSpam Cleaner is a privacy-first, lightweight tool designed to scan and clean notification settings in Google Chrome, protecting you from notification abuse. KEY FEATURES & BENEFITS - 100% Privacy-First & Open-Source (Security & Transparency): All scans and blocks are processed strictly on your local machine. Absolutely zero data is collected or sent off-device. As a fully open-source extension (MIT License), our code is publicly hosted on GitHub for anyone to audit and verify. GitHub Repository: https://github.com/mah-jp/notispam-cleaner - Scan & One-Click Clean: Instantly audit your allowed notifications list. The extension automatically separates "Trusted" sites (like Google, Slack, Teams) from "Suspicious/Unknown" ones, letting you revoke permissions from all suspicious sites at once while keeping your trusted ones intact. - Real-Time Guard & Silent Protection: Actively monitors notification permission changes. When a suspicious site gets allowed, the extension detects it instantly and blocks it. Includes a "Silent Protection" mode to auto-block notifications in the background without showing any alerts—ideal for family members' PCs. HOW TO USE IT 1. Click the NotiSpam Cleaner icon in your toolbar. 2. Click "Scan Allowed Sites" to analyze notification permissions. 3. Review "Suspicious / Unknown" sites and click "Clean All Suspicious Sites" to block them. 4. Keep the "Real-time Guard" toggle active to get alert popups if you accidentally allow a suspicious site in the future. IMPORTANT NOTES & LIMITATIONS - Not an Adblocker: This extension specifically blocks annoying popups generated through Chrome's native push notifications. It is not designed to block general web page advertisements (like banners or video ads). - Technical Limitation: Due to Chrome security constraints, extensions cannot retrieve a bulk list of all custom notification settings. NotiSpam Cleaner discovers sites by cross-referencing allowed rules with your local history, bookmarks, and open tabs. Very old allowed sites that are no longer in your history or bookmarks may not be scanned. You can view the full raw database link inside the extension to review all rules manually.
