Changes the color of the notification badge on many popular websites from red to gray

Red is a color that we're hard wired to react to. Many social media and other websites use this color on the notification badge to make sure you pay attention to it. Often, this can be distracting or annoying, and so this extension will turn the background of that badge to a neutral gray color so that it doesn't interfere with your browsing experience.
