Meetings do not happen in one language. Ours certainly do not — a sentence in Hebrew, an answer in English, a number read out in Arabic, all in the same thirty seconds. Every transcription tool we tried picked a language when the call started and stayed with it, and everything spoken in the other two came out as noise. NoteTheBoat detects the language again on every single sentence. A line spoken in English inside a Hebrew meeting is written in English, laid out left-to-right, and labelled. Nothing is transliterated into the wrong alphabet and nothing is quietly dropped. WHAT IT DOES • Records Google Meet and Zoom calls in the browser — video and audio together, starting automatically when a call begins if you want it to. • Transcribes with per-sentence language detection. Hebrew, English, Arabic and 90+ other languages, mixed freely in one recording. • Writes a summary: an overview, the key points, the decisions, the action items with owners, and a topic timeline you can click to jump to that moment. • Exports to TXT, Markdown, SRT subtitles or JSON. Your recording, your file. • Searches across every meeting you have ever recorded — titles, summaries and the full text of every transcript. • Handles uploads too: a WhatsApp voice note, a phone recording, a Zoom export or any video file. PRIVACY IS THE DEFAULT, NOT A SETTING Transcription runs on your own machine, in your own browser, using WebGPU where your hardware supports it and WebAssembly where it does not. The audio of your meeting does not leave your computer. Recordings live in your browser's own storage, not in our cloud. That is the default, and once you are signed in it keeps working with no internet connection at all — the model runs locally. If you would rather use a cloud model for higher accuracy, or have summaries written by Claude, those are options you switch on, and the extension tells you plainly what gets sent where before you do. WHY NOT THE BUILT-IN CAPTIONS Meet's captions vanish when the call ends and cannot be exported. Zoom's transcripts are English-first and priced per host. Both pick one language. None of them give you the video, the audio and the transcript as three files you own, which is what you actually need a week later when someone asks what was agreed. ACCOUNTS AND PLANS Recording requires a free account — sign in with Google or with an email and password. The reason is exactness rather than gatekeeping: your plan lives on your account, not in this browser. Signing in is how the extension knows which plan you have, so the same subscription is recognised here, on the website and on every computer you use, and so a recording you make on one machine is counted against the right allowance. Free includes 60 minutes of server-side transcription a month. Paid plans raise the limits, keep recordings longer, and add cloud summaries.
