Notes Everywhere

Highlight anything on the web and leave Notion-style comment threads — readable by humans and by AI agents.

Notes Everywhere turns any page on the web into something you can comment on. Select text, leave a note, reply to it. Every thread on the page is listed in a sidebar in document order, so nothing gets buried and clicking one jumps straight to the text it marks. Threads can be resolved when they are done, and colour-coded while they are not. NOTES THAT HOLD ON WHEN PAGES CHANGE Each note stores four independent anchors: the quoted text with the words either side of it, its position in the page's text, an XPath, and its section and headings. When a page lazily loads, re-renders its DOM, or navigates as a single-page app, the note re-attaches itself. If the quoted text is genuinely gone, the note is kept as "unanchored" rather than deleted quote, section and conversation intact and re-attaches by itself if the text comes back. NOTHING IS INJECTED INTO THE PAGE YOU READ Highlights are painted with the CSS Custom Highlight API, so no elements are inserted into the page. Your notes cannot break a site's layout, and a site's re-render cannot wipe your notes. READABLE BY YOUR AI Every thread is embedded in the page itself: as a W3C Web Annotation JSON-LD block, as semantic HTML with schema.org microdata, as data attributes on the annotated blocks, and as a live JavaScript API. Anything that can read the page can read your comments — no API key, no integration, no export step. LOCAL FIRST Notes are saved in Chrome's own storage on your machine. There is no server, no sync and no tracking. Google sign-in is entirely optional and only attaches your name and picture to the comments you write.
