Overview
A threaded notepad library for local notes, online notepads, notepad history links, and WYSIWYG Markdown editing.
Notepad Library is a threaded notepad workspace for people who use online notepads, browser notes, Markdown drafts, rich text notes, and quick writing scratchpads throughout the day. Instead of treating every note as a separate loose browser tab, Notepad Library helps you keep a collection of notepads organized in one place. It adds a sidebar-based note library where you can create, open, group, edit, revisit, and export notes across local editors and supported online notepad services. Notepad Library supports notepad.pw and notepad.cc, plus local browser-based notes with multiple editor types. Whether you want a simple plain text note, a rich text editor, a Markdown source/preview workspace, or a WYSIWYG Markdown editor, Notepad Library gives you a flexible writing environment inside Chrome. Core features: - Create and organize a collection of notepads - Open and manage notepad.pw and notepad.cc pages - Create local notes stored in Chrome extension storage - Use a threaded folder-style sidebar to group notes - Keep recent notes visible and easy to reopen - Track directly opened notepad.pw and notepad.cc links in a dedicated History folder - Open history links in the current page or in a new tab - Export open local notes in multiple formats - Generate randomized Lorem Ipsum content for testing note layouts - Use different editor experiences for different writing styles Editor support: Notepad Library includes multiple local note editor modes: - Plain Text notes for fast, distraction-free writing - Rich Text notes for simple formatted content - TinyMCE notes with a full rich text toolbar - Tiptap notes with a lightweight rich text editing experience - Markdown notes with source, split, and preview modes - Milkdown WYSIWYG Markdown notes for visual Markdown editing The Markdown editor supports a side-by-side source and preview layout, making it easier to write and review Markdown without constantly switching views. Milkdown support adds a more visual WYSIWYG Markdown workflow for users who want Markdown structure without only working in raw source text. Online notepad support: Notepad Library works with notepad.pw and notepad.cc. You can create new online notepads from the extension, open saved online notes, and keep supported notepad links organized in the sidebar. The History folder is focused on notepad links only. It records directly opened notepad.pw and notepad.cc pages, while filtering out unrelated browsing such as video sites, cloud drives, social networks, search pages, and general websites. This keeps the note history clean and useful. Threaded folder organization: Notepad Library is designed to feel like a library of notepads rather than a single notepad. You can group notes into folders, collapse and expand sections, and keep local notes, online notes, and history links easier to scan. This is useful for: - Research notes - Draft writing - Temporary scratchpads - Meeting notes - Checklists - Project notes - Markdown drafts - Rich text snippets - Online notepad links - Reference notes - Quick browser-based writing Export support: For local notes, Notepad Library includes export tools so your writing is not locked into the extension. Depending on the note type, you can export the open note as: - Markdown - HTML - Plain text - JSON This makes it easier to move drafts into other apps, keep backups, share structured content, or reuse notes outside the browser. Lorem Ipsum generator: Notepad Library includes a Lorem Ipsum autofill tool for testing notes and editor layouts. Generated sample text is randomized and appends to existing note content instead of replacing it. Each editor type receives unique generated content and formatting, so Plain Text, Markdown, TinyMCE, Tiptap, Milkdown, and Rich Text notes do not all receive the same placeholder structure. Upgrade highlights: Version 1.x introduced the move from the original single-note concept into a named notepad collection experience. The extension became Notepad Library, with updated naming, description, and support for local and online notepad organization. Version 2.x expanded the history model and introduced stronger handling for directly opened notepad links, especially for notepad.pw and notepad.cc pages opened from the address bar. Version 4.x improved sidebar history behavior, added a folder-style History view, and refined the ability to open historical notepad links directly from the sidebar without needing to manually reopen them in new tabs. Version 5.x brought major Markdown improvements, including a side-by-side Markdown source and preview layout. This made Markdown editing more practical for users who want to write and preview at the same time. Version 6.x focused on stability, editor responsiveness, and bug fixes. This included improvements around extension context handling, editor layout width, sidebar spacing, Milkdown rendering behavior, and smoother editor loading. Version 7.x added export tools, Lorem Ipsum generation, randomized editor-specific sample text, updated extension icons, cleaner store-ready metadata, and stricter notepad-only history filtering. The 7.x line is focused on polish, store readiness, and practical writing workflow improvements while staying within the same major version. Privacy and storage: Local notes are stored using Chrome extension storage. Online notepads remain on their original notepad.pw or notepad.cc pages. Notepad Library is designed to keep your notepad workflow organized without turning unrelated browsing history into note history. Notepad Library is built for users who want the speed of simple online notepads with the structure of a small writing library. It is useful if you frequently create temporary notes, keep multiple notepads open, write Markdown drafts, collect snippets, or need a cleaner way to organize local and online notes from Chrome.
