NoteMarks
Overview
Highlight the web. Own your notes. Save any blog post as Markdown with multi-color highlights.
NoteMarks helps you read the web with intention — highlight important passages, save articles as clean Markdown, and revisit everything later, even offline. Whether you're on Substack, Medium, Dev.to, or any article-based site, NoteMarks keeps your reading notes on your device. No account required. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Highlight any passage in 7 colors — yellow, orange, pink, red, blue, green, and purple • Add notes to highlights and find them again when you return to a page • Save the article body as Markdown with one explicit action • Read saved content in Chrome's side panel — Reader, Highlights, and Notes views • Switch to Zen mode for distraction-free long-form reading • Keep reading offline — saved pages and highlights stay on your device • Re-index when a page changes and migrate highlights with a clear warning • Export your data as Markdown files from settings HOW IT WORKS 1. Install NoteMarks — no sign-up needed 2. Select text on any page and pick a highlight color 3. Save the article and open the side panel to read anytime, online or offline BUILT FOR READERS NoteMarks is optimized for modern publishing platforms and long-form content. Highlights persist when you revisit pages, so your notes stay where you left them. YOUR DATA On the free plan, highlights and saved content are stored locally in your browser (Chrome storage and IndexedDB). We don't require an account to use NoteMarks.
