Overview
Save web content to Gemini Notebook: direct API, bulk import, RSS feeds, YouTube playlists, notebook management.
Deftery: Save anything to Google Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) in a single keystroke. Gemini Notebook Clipper - Deftery is a free Chrome extension that pushes web content directly into your notebooks in Google Gemini Notebook. No copy-paste, no detour through a "saved clips" folder, no waiting for a public API. Deftery talks to Gemini Notebook the same way the web app does and adds your sources where they belong. Changelog: 1.2.0 · August 2026 - Studio overview: everything Gemini Notebook has produced across all of your notebooks, with audio overviews, slide decks, videos, quizzes and reports; slide decks download as PDF or PPTX - New start page with key figures, recently updated notebooks, notebooks close to their source limit, and quick links - A warning before an import would run past the source limit of a notebook, with the option to import anyway - All sources now shows the type of every source and can be filtered by type and notebook and sorted - Fixed: Gemini Notebook moved to notebook.google.com. The extension declares the new and the old address, which is why Chrome asks for your consent once during the update - Removed: podcast export, because Gemini Notebook hands out only the cover image and no audio file 1.1.0 · July 2026 - Google renamed NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook; the extension is now called Gemini Notebook Clipper - Deftery and works exactly as before - New full-page dashboard with seven sections: overview, notebooks, all sources, import, audio overviews, prompt library, and settings - Local organization: favorites, tags, and folders for your notebooks plus a personal prompt library, stored only on your device - Optional on-device AI: notebook suggestions, automatic titles for text sources, and smart link selection during bulk import, processed entirely on your device - Seven new interface languages (15 in total), including Arabic and Hebrew with right-to-left support 1.0.0 · May 2026 - First release: quick save, right-click menu, bulk import, RSS and Atom feeds, YouTube one-click saving, notebook management, audio overview trigger, multi-account support WHY DEFTERY? Researchers, writers, students, and knowledge workers who use Gemini Notebook as a thinking environment know the pain: every interesting page, article, or video has to be opened in Gemini Notebook, pasted as a source, named, and saved, one at a time. Deftery removes the friction. One keystroke or one right-click sends the page straight to your last-used notebook. WHAT IT DOES 1. Quick-save shortcut Press Ctrl+Shift+S (Windows / Linux) or Cmd+Shift+S (Mac) to send the current page directly to your last-used notebook. No popup, no prompts, instant. 2. Right-click menu Right-click any page, selection, link, or image and send it straight to Gemini Notebook. Selections become text sources, everything else becomes a web source. 3. Popup capture Click the toolbar icon to see page metadata, the current selection, detected RSS feeds, page links, and YouTube playlist info, then pick a notebook and send. 4. Full-page dashboard Open the dashboard for the big picture: a start page with key figures, recently updated notebooks and quick links, your notebooks as a grid or a table with search and sorting, a searchable list of all sources across notebooks with type filters, bulk and RSS import with live progress, the Studio overview, a prompt library, and pages of their own for changelog, how-to, settings, and about. 5. Bulk import Paste a list of URLs (one per line) or pick from links detected on the current page, then import them all into a notebook in batches. Filter by YouTube, PDF, or external links. 6. RSS feed import Deftery auto-detects RSS and Atom feeds on the current page or accepts a feed URL directly. Pick the items you want and import them as sources in one click. 7. YouTube one-click on every page On any YouTube watch page Deftery injects a "→ Gemini Notebook" button next to Like and Share. One click adds the current video as a source. On a channel's Videos tab the same button sits next to Subscribe and imports every listed video (up to 500) in one batch. On a playlist page open the popup and push the entire playlist. 8. Notebook management List, create, and delete notebooks from inside the extension, now with a full source detail view in the dashboard. Notebooks are cached locally so the UI stays responsive. 9. Local organization Mark notebooks as favorites, assign tags, and sort them into folders. Keep a personal prompt library with one-click copy. All of it stays on your device. 10. Studio overview See everything Gemini Notebook has produced across all of your notebooks: audio overviews, slide decks, videos, quizzes, reports, and infographics, each with a cover image, type, status, date, and notebook. Slide decks download as PDF or PPTX. The overview also lists what you created inside Gemini Notebook itself. 11. Source limit warning Gemini Notebook caps the number of sources per notebook depending on the plan. Before every import Deftery reports how many entries still fit and how many would be rejected. It never blocks the import; you can set your plan in the settings or let Deftery derive it from your largest notebook. 12. Optional on-device AI If your browser provides the built-in local AI, Deftery can suggest the right notebook for the current page, title text sources automatically, and separate content links from navigation links during bulk import. Everything is processed on your device; nothing is sent to any server. 13. Multi-account support Multiple Google accounts? Switch the account index in Settings and Deftery talks to the right Gemini Notebook instance. 14. 15 UI languages English, German, Turkish, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Arabic, and Hebrew. Arabic and Hebrew render right-to-left. The extension uses your browser language by default; you can override it manually. FREE FOREVER Deftery is free. No paid tier, no PRO upsell, no in-extension purchases, no ads, no usage limits, no telemetry. It stays free because minoka.de builds it as a utility for the Gemini Notebook community. PRIVACY-FIRST Deftery does not track you. No analytics scripts, no usage events, no third-party calls. The only servers Deftery contacts are: - notebook.google.com (formerly notebooklm.google.com), the home of Gemini Notebook, to send your sources (uses your existing Google login) - youtube.com, to read playlist video lists when you import a YouTube playlist - RSS feed URLs you explicitly choose to import Your settings, your last-used notebook, your favorites, tags, folders and prompts, and the language override live in chrome.storage.local on your own machine.
