No copy-pasting URLs. No waiting. 2. Get an AI-powered pocket. We process the video into a structured pocket on your NooTube dashboard (nootube.in). A concise summary. 8-12 key chapters with clickable timestamps that jump to the exact moment in the original video. Auto-generated topics and tags. This pocket is saved to your personal library forever. 3. Your library is smarter than a bookmark folder. All your saved pockets live at nootube.in. It’s a private, permanent archive. Auto-clustered by topic, so you see connections across different videos. Add personal notes to any pocket. Find any moment from any video you’ve ever saved. 4. Single Purpose Statement (Privacy tab → Single purpose) This extension adds a “Save to NooTube” button to YouTube video pages. When clicked, it instantly saves the video’s transcript, title, and URL to the user’s personal NooTube knowledge library at nootube.in. 3. Permission Justifications (Privacy tab → one per permission) storage The extension needs to save your NooTube authentication token locally on your computer. This lets the “Save” button work immediately without asking you to log in again every time you use YouTube. tabs The extension needs to know when you open a YouTube watch page so it can add the “Save to NooTube” button. It also needs to open your NooTube library page after you save a video. scripting The extension needs to run a small script on the nootube.in website to securely read your login session. This is how it gets your authentication token to enable saving from YouTube. This session is used only to authenticate your saves to your personal library. 4. Data Usage Disclosure (Privacy tab → Data usage) Authentication information: YES. The extension reads the Supabase access token from localStorage on nootube.in and stores a copy locally in chrome.storage.local. This token is used solely to authenticate the user’s API requests to their own NooTube library. It is never sent to any third party. Website content: YES. When the user explicitly clicks ‘Save to NooTube’ on a YouTube page, the extension reads the video transcript, URL, title, and duration from the page. This data is sent only to the user’s own NooTube account to create their saved pocket. All other categories: NO (PII, Health, Financial, Personal communications, Location, Web history, User activity). Privacy policy text to add to nootube.in/privacy Add this section to the existing /app/privacy/page.tsx: NooTube Chrome Extension — Data Handling The NooTube Chrome extension is designed to minimize data collection and operate only on your explicit instruction. What We Collect The extension collects data in two scenarios: On NooTube.in (while you are logged in): It reads your Supabase authentication token from the website’s localStorage. This token is stored locally in your browser’s chrome.storage.local to keep you logged into the extension. On YouTube.com (when you click “Save to NooTube”): It reads the specific video’s public data: the URL, title, duration, language code, and transcript text from YouTube’s player. This occurs only when you click the save button. How We Use This Data The authentication token is used exclusively to associate your saves with your NooTube account. The video data (URL, title, transcript) is sent securely to the NooTube API to create a “pocket” in your personal library. This data is processed and stored in our Supabase database. We do not access your general YouTube browsing history. We do not read data from any page other than the specific YouTube video page where you click save. Data Storage & Sharing All data collected by the extension is sent only to infrastructure owned and controlled by NooTube (Vercel for the API, Supabase for the database). We do not share, sell, or transmit this data to any third-party services, advertisers, or data brokers. Data Retention Your authentication token is stored locally until it expires or you log out of NooTube. Your saved pockets are retained in your library until you choose to delete them via your NooTube dashboard. Your Control You can view, manage, and permanently delete any saved video pocket at any time by visiting your library at nootube.in.
