Noggin by URLflows
Overview
Save AI prompts, instructions, skills and emoji with fill-ins and shortcodes, then insert them into any AI chat or coding tool.
The prompts that work best end up scattered across chat histories, notes and config folders, and the emoji and message formats you reach for every day live only in your head. Noggin by URLflows keeps them in one place, with the blanks you fill in each time, ready to paste into any AI tool or Slack. Save prompts, instructions, skills, emoji and Slack messages once. Next time, click the toolbar icon, fill in the blanks and insert it straight into the page, or copy it. Not sure where to start? Load a set of examples made for engineering or product management teams. YOUR VAULT - Five kinds of item: prompts, instructions (the standing guidance you give a tool), skills, emoji and Slack messages. - Parameters: write {{topic}} wherever a prompt changes from one use to the next, or {{tone|friendly}} to give it a default. You're asked for each one before it's copied or inserted, and you can add a hint for each. - Where it lives: in the vault itself, a file or folder on your computer, a web address, or somewhere else (a custom GPT, a project's instructions). A skill doesn't have to be copied in: note where it's stored and how you call it (/my-skill). - Tags, notes and favorites. Favorites come first in every list. - Usage history: how often you've used each item, and when and where you last did. - Filter by kind or platform, and sort by recently used, recently changed, A to Z or most used. EMOJI - Keep the emoji you use, with what each one means when you send it, so the team's 🫡 and 👀 mean the same thing to everyone. - Give each one a shortcode, like :salute:. Type it in a prompt box on an AI site and it turns into the emoji as you finish typing. Switch on "every site" and allow it, and shortcodes work in email, chat and forms too. - Your emoji sit in a row at the top of the toolbar panel and the Vault tab, each with its shortcode underneath, one click to insert. - A usage count and last-used date for each, and a starter set to begin with. REWRITE ME Tell it how you write once: your tone, your habits (always this, never that), the phrases you use, your sign-off, and a few samples of your writing. Then rewrite anything in your own voice, privately, with the AI built into Chrome, which runs on your computer. Pick Like me, Shorter, Friendlier, More formal, Clearer, Fix only or For Slack, then copy the result or put it back on the page. Select text anywhere, right-click and choose Rewrite like me. Small on-device models don't remember you, so your style goes along with every rewrite. No built-in AI? Copy your style as instructions for any AI, including local models such as Ollama or LM Studio. SLACK - Copy for Slack: point at an AI's answer and copy it ready for Slack. Headings become bold lines, tables a lined-up code block, and bold, italics, lists, links, quotes and code come through, instead of a mess of # and ** characters. On any other page, select text and right-click. - Slack message templates: write stand-ups, review requests, incident updates and announcements once, in Markdown with {{fill-ins}}, and see a preview of how they'll look in Slack. Insert one into Slack's message box already formatted, or copy it. PLATFORMS AND PRODUCTS The popular AI chat sites and AI coding tools come built in. Add your own: an internal assistant, an IDE, an agent you've built. Each one lists the items linked to it and how often you've used them there. THE TOOLBAR PANEL Click the toolbar icon to search your vault, with favorites and the current site's items first and your emoji above them. Insert an item into the page's text box or copy it; one with parameters asks for them first. Press + to paste in something new, or take the page's selected text. The same panel opens three ways: under the toolbar icon, in Chrome's side panel beside the page, or in its own window that stays open while you work. The side panel and the window follow the tab you're on. Choose which one the icon opens in Settings. RIGHT-CLICK - Copy selected text for Slack, on any page. - Save selected text as a prompt, instructions, a skill, an emoji or a Slack message. - Save a link as the place a skill lives. - Insert a saved item into any text box. ON AI SITES On the built-in AI sites, a page helper works beside the conversation: - Anything you've sent that's already in the vault is outlined, and pointing at it names the item, so you can tell a saved prompt from a one-off. - Pointing at anything else you've sent shows a Save to vault button. - A Vault tab on the right edge (or Ctrl+Shift+Y, Command+Shift+Y on a Mac) opens your vault beside the page, this site's items first, to fill in and insert into the prompt box. - Pointing at the AI's answer shows Copy for Slack. - Typing an emoji's shortcode in the prompt box turns it into the emoji. - Every copy and insert notes the site and page, so the history shows where each item earns its keep. Each part has its own switch, and the helper can be switched off site by site. Add a platform with its own web address and allow it, and the Vault tab works there too. SETTINGS The gear in the panel opens a settings page with a search box (press / to jump to it). A first install opens it at Getting started. - Getting started: load the engineering or product management examples, tagged #example so one reset removes them. - Vault: every item as a card, with an editor for the text, parameters, location, platforms, tags, notes and history. Slack messages show as Slack will show them. - Emoji: every emoji with its shortcode, meaning and usage. - Platforms & products, On AI sites, and Sites: what the helper does and where. - Appearance: Dark or Light, with a one-click switch in the panel, then Seasons (Auto follows the time of year) and Holidays themes. An optional animation (snowfall, falling leaves, spring petals or summer fireflies) plays behind the toolbar panel; it's off by default. - Backup & Restore: your whole vault, platforms and settings in one JSON file, to restore later or in another browser. - Resets: one area at a time, or everything at once. PRIVACY No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no ads, no servers. Your vault, its history and your settings stay in Chrome's storage on your computer, and nothing is sent anywhere. On the AI sites, the page helper compares what you've sent with your vault inside the page, and emoji shortcodes look only at the few characters before the cursor; nothing it reads leaves your browser. Rewrites run on Chrome's built-in AI on your computer, never on a server. If you remove Noggin, Chrome opens a short feedback form in a new tab; answering is optional. Works in Chrome and Chromium browsers such as Edge and Brave. Noggin is an independent tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by any AI provider. Part of the URLflows family: https://urlflows.app/
