Nobia: Hide What Scares You
Overview
Blurs images of what you fear (spiders, snakes, blood…) before you see them. Image analysis stays on your device by default.
Ever scrolled into a spider photo you never asked to see? Nobia blurs images of what you pick (spiders, snakes, blood and more) before they reach your eyes, so you can browse without bracing for the next one. Free. No account, no ads. ■ Blurred before you see it • Every image starts blurred and appears only after Nobia has checked it, so nothing flashes on screen. • Hover a hidden image for a "Show" button. Whether to look is up to you. ■ Covers every kind • Pick a category and every kind of it is covered: choose snakes and a coral snake is hidden just like any other. The same goes for words you add yourself. • Works across Korean and English: "spider" also hides 거미. • Search Google Images for something you fear and the results start hidden. ■ Recognizes the picture, not just the caption • Turn on on-device image analysis and Nobia recognizes what's in the picture even with no caption or telling file name. It runs entirely in your browser; images are never uploaded. (Downloads a 64 MB model once.) • Tells look-alikes apart: search "reptiles" and only the snakes are hidden; lizards and turtles stay visible. • Also checks ads, embedded posts (iframes) and embedded YouTube thumbnails. ■ What it can hide Insects and spiders, snakes, blood and medical, holes and patterns, trypophobia, deep water, clowns, plus your own words. ■ Late-night food and thumbnails, too • Craving Guard: hides food and mukbang images, all day or only during the hours you set (say 9 pm to 2 am). • Focus Guard: hides thumbnails on YouTube and other video feeds, so you choose by title instead of bait. ■ Your way • Choose how hidden images look: light, blue, blur only, or a color you pick. • Fix mistakes in one click: "Wrongly hidden" on a blurred image, or right-click a missed image → "Nobia: hide this image". Nobia remembers it. • Add a site to the allowlist and Nobia leaves it alone. ■ Privacy No servers, no accounts, no analytics, no ads. Nobia doesn't keep your browsing history. Images stay in your browser by default; only if you turn on the optional Gemini analysis in Advanced settings (off by default, your own API key) are undecided images sent to Google. See the privacy policy for details. ■ If Chrome shows a warning when you install If you have Chrome's Enhanced Safe Browsing turned on, Chrome may say this extension is not trusted. Chrome shows this for extensions from newly registered developer accounts for a period of time; it does not mean malware was found. Nobia passed Chrome Web Store review to be published, and it installs normally if you choose to continue. ■ Good to know • Automatic detection can miss things or blur the wrong image; the buttons above fix it on the spot. • Scenes inside playing videos are not analyzed (thumbnails are). • On computers without a usable GPU, images can take a moment longer to appear.
