AutoTool XPath Picker
Overview
Click any element to copy a stable XPath or CSS selector for your automated tests. No DevTools needed.
Stop digging through DevTools to write locators. Click the toolbar icon (or press Alt+Shift+X), hover to see what you'll get, and click. The element is highlighted and its locator is on your clipboard. Built for automation testers: • Stable locators first: test attributes like data-testid, stable ids, name, aria-label and visible text. Auto-generated ids and class names are skipped. • Every locator is checked against the live page, so you know it matches exactly one element. • Copy as XPath, as a CSS selector, or as ready-to-paste code for popular test frameworks. • Alternatives are one click away: the popup lists other locators for the same element. • Works inside shadow DOM and iframes, and tells you which frame to switch into. • Clicking an icon picks its button. Arrow keys move to the parent, child or sibling element. • Add your team's own test attributes, and turn on a mode for data-heavy pages that avoids changing text. • Recent picks: right-click the icon to see and re-copy your last 50 locators. No data collection and no network requests. The extension only runs on a page after you start it.
