OpenRune
Overview
Design your own text characters in Rune Maker, then see them as your real marks on any web page and inside text boxes.
Make your own text characters. OpenRune lets you design your own characters, called runes, in Rune Maker, then use them in ordinary text. Draw a rune from simple shapes (squares, circles, triangles, arcs, lines and caps), copy it, and paste it anywhere you write. With this extension installed, runes appear as the real marks on web pages and inside text boxes. What you can do • Design your own runes in Rune Maker, free in your browser • Copy a rune as text and paste it into messages, documents and forms • See runes as the real marks on any web page, and inside text boxes • Keep your own runes in the popup, ready to copy • Add a rune you found by pasting it in • Switch rendering on or off any time How it works A rune is a short piece of text. Without the extension it shows as a fallback character (◆ ■ ● ★). With the extension it is drawn as the real mark. People without the extension will see the fallback character instead, so a rune is best shared with people who have it, or alongside a link. Privacy Everything is processed in your browser. Your saved runes are kept in Chrome sync storage. No ads, no analytics. OpenRune is an open format operated by OSIO Ltd.
