Onus: block sites until you've earned them

Time spent working fills a bank that pays for the sites you seal.

Work earns play. Time on your work sites fills a bank, and the bank pays for the sites you seal. Works in Chrome and Edge. Onus doesn't block apps or other browsers. HOW IT WORKS 1. Earn. Pick the sites you work on, like Google Docs, GitHub or Figma. Time there fills your bank while you're active: 25 minutes of work buys 10 minutes of play. There's no timer to start. 2. Hold. The bank saves up to 2 hours of play. Its number sits on the toolbar icon, green while you earn and red while you spend. It starts at 0, so your first play is earned too. 3. Spend. Pick the sites that pull you away, like YouTube, Reddit or X, and Onus seals them. Open one and you choose: spend 5, 10 or 15 minutes, or go back to your work in one click. When the minutes are up, the seal closes again. WHAT KEEPS IT HONEST • The seal holds through back buttons, new tabs, links and other addresses like twitter.com, and "Test my seal" shows you it does • Play time runs only while you watch. Switch tabs or step away and it pauses • Removing a sealed site takes 10 minutes, so the seal is never undone on impulse • Sealed hours and work-only hours, at the times you set • Strictness: Gentle, Firm or Locked. Firm asks you to type a sentence before making Onus easier • Lock it for up to 30 days, and add a partner who gets an email if you loosen it or remove Onus WHEN YOU NEED IT • 5 emergency minutes a day. They never touch the bank • Focus: 30 minutes, an hour or two of work anywhere, even off the browser. Say "I worked" at the end and it counts • Feed-only YouTube: search gives a plain list of titles, videos play without "up next", and only the feed costs bank time • Quiet Google search: results as a plain list of links • Right-click any page to seal it or count it as work SEE YOUR PROGRESS • Today and Your week: the hours you get the most done, and a receipt of the day or the week • Keep the bank in view: a pin you can drag around, or a small window on top of other apps Private by design. No account. Your site lists, bank and browsing stay in your browser. Onus sends only a random install code to check whether you've subscribed, and, if you add a partner, their email. 7 days free with no card needed, then $29.99 a year, or $59 once. If you don't pay, Onus stays free with 2 sealed sites and 1 work site: the bank, the seal and emergency minutes keep working. More sites, Focus, Lock, strictness, a partner and Today come with the full Onus. Payments are handled by Paddle, and you can cancel any time.
