trouble installing chatgpt for desktop

I've made sure the free download is for PC windows. Installed it from ChatGTP Download for PC, etc... I'm prompted to add it to Chrome. When I open it from the downloads menu, I'm getting a Compressed item menu with options to open, showing application, etc...? It doesn't put an icon on the desktop. I figured I did something wrong, so I deleted and re-installed with the same results. I wanted to use the voice feature. Thanks for your help.
