Aqvil Pastes

Save text to your Aqvil pastes, clip quotes into your article drafts, and save pages to read later in Study.

Your Aqvil pastebin, one click away in your toolbar. Aqvil Pastes saves notes, snippets, links and prompts to the Pastes shelf in your Aqvil account, straight from the page you're reading. No more copying, switching tabs, finding the right place and pasting. Select, save, done. Everything you save shows up in Study on aqvil.com, where you can keep editing, mark it up with the Study pen, and share it. SAVE FROM ANY PAGE • Select text, right-click, and choose "Save selection to Aqvil pastes". • Or press Alt+Shift+S to save whatever you've selected. • Right-click a link to save it, or right-click the page to save its address. • Line breaks stay exactly where they were, so lists, code and quotes keep their shape. • The page it came from (its title and address) is noted under the text, so you can always find your way back. Code is saved clean, without the note, so it still runs. • Text selected inside text boxes and editors works too. • A small note in the corner of the page confirms it's saved, with a link to open it. JOT A QUICK PASTE • Open the popup from the toolbar, or press Alt+Shift+P. • Type or paste anything, give it a title if you like, and save with Ctrl+Enter. • Pick a format: Text, Code (with a language) or Markdown, or leave it on Auto and Aqvil guesses from what you pasted. • Choose a colour, the same five colours as on the site, so your pastes are easy to tell apart. • If you had text selected on the page when you opened the popup, it's already filled in for you. • Close the popup halfway through? Your unsent draft is still there when you come back. FIND, COPY AND SHARE • The Pastes tab lists your pastes, pinned ones first, then the newest. • Search by title, text or language to find the one you need. • Copy puts the whole paste on your clipboard in one click. • Share makes a link anyone can open and copies it, ready to send. If a paste is already shared, it copies the existing link. • Open takes you to the paste in Aqvil Study, where you can edit it, add a password or an expiry to its link, or stop sharing it. LOOKS AND FEELS LIKE AQVIL The popup is the Pastes shelf from aqvil.com, in your toolbar: the same cream paper, ink outlines, taped-on sheets, ruled lines, colours and handwriting. If you use Aqvil, you already know how it works. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT • Pastes are private to your account until you turn on a share link. • The extension uses your normal Aqvil login. It never asks for or stores your password, and it keeps no token of its own. • It only sends something to Aqvil when you ask it to: saving a selection, link, page or paste, or copying and sharing one of your pastes. • It doesn't read your browsing history, and it doesn't look at pages you don't save from. • Your unsent draft and settings stay in your browser. • No ads, no tracking, and your data isn't sold. If you're not signed in, the popup shows a button that takes you to the Aqvil sign-in page; once you've signed in there, the extension works straight away. PERMISSIONS, EXPLAINED • Context menus: adds the "Save to Aqvil pastes" items to the right-click menu. • Active tab and scripting: reads the text you've selected, and the page's title and address, only in the tab where you save something or open the popup, and shows the "Saved" note there. • Storage: remembers your unsent draft and settings in your browser. • Clipboard: copies a paste or its share link when you click Copy or Share. • Access to aqvil.com: saves your pastes to your account and loads them, using your existing Aqvil login.
