Somewhere
Overview
One search across Italy's property portals; listings explained and translated into English. Requires a Somewhere subscription.
Search Italy's property portals. Understand listings in English. Enter what you're looking for once (town, buy or rent, price, size, rooms) and Somewhere builds searches on six Italian property portals, using the filters each one supports. Open the ones you choose, and while its panel is open, Somewhere reads each supported listing you open: • The description in plain English, with any corrections marked • Price in a familiar format, size in m² and square feet, and the town with its province and region where available • Facts the listing states, such as bedrooms, bathrooms, heating, energy class, furnishing and elevator, where Somewhere can read them • Rent shown as monthly only when the listing says so • Details the listing doesn't state, or that Somewhere can't read, marked Unknown rather than guessed, so you know what to ask the agent Somewhere never asks you to confirm a listing fact. It reads what the page states, or tells you it doesn't know. The first time, you may need to click Translate once so Chrome can set up its English translator. Automatic reading can be turned off at any time. Save properties to Favorites while you browse. Favorites stay in this browser until you close Chrome. WHERE YOUR DATA GOES — three cases, nothing else: 1. Local processing. Your search criteria in the panel, and the listing facts Somewhere reads, are processed locally. The one exception is the description: when Somewhere reads an Italian listing in English — automatically while this panel is open, unless you've turned that off, or when you ask — its description is sent, exactly as the agent wrote it, to Somewhere's server and read by an AI model (Anthropic). It goes with its language and whether the listing is for sale or rent; when Chrome makes an English translation, that translation and the portal's name are sent too, so our server can check it. No other listing details are added — not its link, price or reference number — and our server doesn't keep any of it. Your search — what you're looking for and the links it builds — stays in this browser until you close Chrome or the extension is updated or reloaded. It isn't stored across browser sessions or sent to somewhere.properties. Nothing from a listing is written to storage unless you save it to your shortlist. What the panel has read stays in its memory until the panel closes, so you can switch tabs and come back. Saved properties stay in this browser until you close Chrome or the extension is updated or reloaded. What Somewhere can see: Somewhere can see which page you're on at the supported property portals so it can follow you between listings. It reads the listing in front of you while this panel is open — never background tabs or search results. If you turn automatic reading off, it reads a listing only when you ask. 2. Portal links you choose to open. Clicking a generated link sends that portal a web address containing your chosen comune, sale or rental, the supported price, size, rooms and bathroom filters, and, if you chose it, the newest-first sort. No portal is contacted before that click. somewhere.properties never receives your search criteria. 3. Sign-in and subscription check. Your account session goes to Supabase, our sign-in provider, and our server confirms your subscription is active. No listing content, search, or saved properties are sent with sign-in. The description read is the one request that carries listing content: the agent's description, with the details listed above, sent to Somewhere's server automatically while the panel is open, unless you've turned that off, or when you ask for it in English; our server doesn't save it. Independent from the property portals Somewhere is an independent property-search tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to the property portals it supports. Using Somewhere requires a Somewhere account with an active subscription ($3.99/month + tax, no free trial, cancel any time), bought on somewhere.properties.
