Next3D Model Viewer is a lightweight Chrome extension for creators, developers, designers, and 3D asset teams who regularly encounter 3D model links across documentation, GitHub repositories, marketplaces, CDNs, and shared project pages. Instead of copying a model URL, opening a separate viewer, and pasting the link manually, the extension scans the current page for supported 3D model links and opens them directly in the Next3D online viewer. What it does - Finds supported 3D model links on the current page. - Opens direct model URLs in Next3D Viewer with one click. - Adds a context menu action for supported model links. - Works with common web, CAD, scan, and interchange model files. - Keeps rendering inside Next3D Viewer, so the extension itself stays small and focused. Common use cases - Preview a linked 3D asset from a GitHub repository. - Check a model link from a product, ecommerce, or AR workflow. - Inspect shared 3D assets before downloading or converting them. - Open CAD-style model links in a browser-based workflow. - Quickly verify whether a linked 3D asset loads before sending it to a teammate. How it works Open a webpage that contains links to 3D model files, click the Next3D extension icon, and choose a detected model. The extension opens a new tab at: https://next3d.ai/viewer?url=<model-url> If the current page itself is a direct model URL, the popup shows an Open this model action. Runtime constraints The extension does not proxy, upload, or transform model files. A model URL must be publicly reachable by the browser and readable by the Next3D viewer. If a source website blocks cross-origin access or requires private authentication, the viewer may not be able to load that model.
