Overview

A calm New Tab with your own bookmark folders. Nothing to sign up for, nothing leaves your device.

Bookmark New Tab turns Chrome's New Tab page into a calm place for your own bookmarks. No news, no weather, no feeds, no ads, no account. Just your bookmark folders, one search box, and a page that appears instantly. WHAT YOU GET - Your bookmark folders on every new tab, in two layouts you can switch with one key: Shelf (folders as quiet columns) and Bar (folder chips and a tile grid). - One search box. It filters your bookmarks as you type. Press Enter with no match and it searches the web with your own default search engine. - Real site icons from your browser's own icon cache, with a letter tile for sites you have never visited. - Keyboard first: press / to search, 1 to 9 to jump to a folder, arrow keys to move, ? for the full list. - Light, dark, or follow your system. Compact or comfortable spacing. - Available in 13 languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Turkish and Simplified Chinese. YOUR BOOKMARKS STAY YOURS - The page asks to read your bookmarks only when you press "Show my bookmarks". Chrome words that permission as "read and change". This page only reads. It never edits, adds or deletes a bookmark. - It makes no network requests of any kind. No analytics, no tracking, no remote code, no remote fonts or images. The extension's content security policy enforces this, so the browser itself blocks anything else. - Private folders from Second Bookmark Bar are never shown, not even their names. The page keeps a short-lived local copy of the last folders shown so it opens instantly; a copy older than 10 minutes is never shown and is discarded. WORKS WELL WITH SECOND BOOKMARK BAR Bookmark New Tab is a separate extension and works fully on its own. Second Bookmark Bar is a bookmark bar on every website. Nothing in Bookmark New Tab is locked behind installing anything else. EASY TO LEAVE "Remove this New Tab" is at the bottom of the page. Your browser's own New Tab page comes back right away. Your bookmarks are never touched. Works in Chrome and Brave.
