Element Screenshot to Clipboard
Overview
Right-click any element to capture a screenshot of its card, row or section straight to the clipboard. No DevTools, no downloads.
Because Chrome won't do it, I did it myself. Snipping Tool is imprecise: you drag a box by eye and it's always a few pixels off. DevTools can capture a node, but it takes half a dozen steps and saves a file instead of copying it, so you have to open the Downloads folder and drag to Slack. I got tired of it and built the missing button. Now it's one step: right-click the card, row, section or dialog you want, pick "Copy element screenshot", paste. It lands on your clipboard as a PNG, ready for Slack, a ticket, PR, or a design review. HOW IT WORKS Because you never quite right-click the node you actually want, it walks up the DOM until something looks like a card: - article, section, tr, li, form, dialog - a border, a shadow, or a rounded background - a row that repeats in a list Full-screen overlays get skipped. Right-click in a modal, you get the modal. WHAT YOU GET - 1rem of padding, no neighbours bleeding in - Sharp on retina and zoomed pages - A little preview so you know what got copied - Works on top of modals PRIVACY No server, no analytics, no account. It measures one element and crops the tab. Nothing leaves your machine. KNOWN LIMITS - Only what's visible in the viewport - No chrome:// pages - No clipboard on plain http (localhost is fine)
