Overview

Automatically deletes browsing history older than the period you set. Keep nothing, or keep 1 second to 365 days.

Leave no browsing history behind. Fade Away automatically deletes Chrome browsing history older than the period you choose. DELETE HISTORY OLDER THAN THE PERIOD YOU SET Set how long to keep your history, and anything older is always deleted (off by default). Choose "1 hour," and only the last hour of history remains. • Choose None, 5 or 30 seconds; 1, 5, 15 or 30 minutes; 1, 3, 6 or 12 hours; 1 or 3 days; 1 or 2 weeks; or 1 or 3 months • Choose "None" to delete every page as soon as you open it • Or pick "Custom" to set any period from 1 second to 365 days, in seconds, minutes, hours or days • History is deleted whenever you open a page and every minute (more often for periods under a minute) • History that passed the period while Chrome was closed is deleted as soon as Chrome starts again Note: When you turn it on or shorten the period, history older than the period is deleted right away. SIMPLE TO USE Turn it on and pick a period from the toolbar button. That's all. The toolbar icon shows ON or OFF, so you can see the status at a glance. The interface follows Chrome's language setting (English or Japanese). PRIVACY Everything runs on your computer, and no browsing data is ever sent anywhere. Fade Away stores only your settings, never a record of the pages you visited. No analytics, no ads, no account required. PERMISSIONS • Read and change your browsing history: to delete history older than the period you set. Fade Away never reads, stores or sends the contents of your history • Alarms: to keep deleting on a schedule while you aren't opening pages • Storage: to save your settings PLEASE NOTE • Deleted history can't be restored • If you sync your Chrome history, it's also deleted on your other devices signed in to the same account • Only browsing history is deleted. Cookies, cache and other data stay as they are • Incognito windows don't save history in the first place, so Fade Away doesn't work there
