Overview
The Chrome Extension for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Who Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too.
How to use it: 1- Install the extension 2- Select the text you want to transform. 3- Right-click and select "Use Nitro-Reader on this text". The logic behind it: This app takes advantage of a phenomenon called 'lexical access' to accelerate the time it takes for humans to process text. 'Lexical access' is a cognitive process in which the brain quickly recognizes a word based on its visual and contextual information and retrieves its meaning from the mental lexicon, which is the mental dictionary of words and their meanings stored in our brain. This process is facilitated by the consistent spelling patterns of words and their frequent occurrence in our language, allowing our brains to develop strong associations between their orthographic and semantic representations. As a result, even when we see only the first few letters of a word, our brains can often recognize it and retrieve its meaning automatically and unconsciously. In my personal tests, I noticed an improvement of over 20% in reading speed compared to regular text.
