Nitpicker — Visual QA for Designers
Overview
Scans the active page for cosmetic implementation bugs: inconsistent typography, colors, spacing, and broken layout.
Nitpicker is a visual QA tool for designers who review front-end implementations and need to catch cosmetic bugs — the kind that are easy for an engineer to miss and tedious to hunt down by eye, one pixel at a time. Nitpicker scans the live page and opens a panel listing everything it finds — no design file, style guide, or reference needed. It works by comparing similar elements against each other, so it can flag a card whose padding doesn't match its neighbors, a heading that's a different size than every other heading at that level, or a button with the wrong corner radius. What it catches: Layout — content spilling outside its container, horizontal page overflow, overlapping elements, text cut off with no indicator Typography — inconsistent font size, line height, weight, color, and casing, compared only within the same hierarchy level Spacing & alignment — mismatched padding, gaps, and misaligned edges across repeated components like cards and nav items Color — backgrounds and text colors that don't match otherwise-identical elements elsewhere on the page Accessibility — text/background pairs that fail WCAG AA contrast Every issue includes a suggested fix (e.g. "Text size 24px → 18px"), a one-click Copy button formatted for pasting straight into a Jira ticket or Slack message, and click-to-locate highlighting so you can see exactly where the problem is on the page. Nitpicker is built to avoid false alarms — it's deliberately careful not to flag intentional design variants as bugs. It only speaks up when something looks like a genuine slip. Everything runs locally in your browser. Nitpicker only reads the page you're actively looking at, only when you click its icon, and never sends anything anywhere.
