No. All drawings are stored directly in your GitHub account in a private repository. Nimue provides an interface to manage them. Your data lives on GitHub's servers, not the extension developer's. Which websites does it work on? Nimue works exclusively on https://excalidraw.com. It does not work on self-hosted Excalidraw instances or other drawing tools. Is it free? Yes. Nimue is free to use. GitHub private repositories are also free for personal use under GitHub's current plans. Will it slow down my browser? No. Nimue is optimized and only runs on excalidraw.com when you use the panel, plus a small toolbar popup. It has minimal impact on browser performance. Can I use it on other browsers? Currently, Nimue is built for Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, etc.). Firefox support may come in the future. What happens if I delete a drawing file on GitHub? If you delete a .excalidraw file directly from your repository on GitHub, it will no longer appear in Nimue's gallery. The extension only shows files that currently exist in your nimue-excalidraw-storage repository. Can other people see my drawings? No. Your drawings are in a private repository that only you can access unless you explicitly invite collaborators through GitHub. Do I need to be connected to the internet? Yes. Nimue syncs with GitHub, so you need an internet connection to save and load drawings. Excalidraw itself can still be used offline for local editing.
