Night Walk: By Lynne Hardy Cultivating a respectful connection with nature is tantamount to Indigenous cultures, inspiring a desire in people to explore the land—"to be one with nature." The artist's personal connection to land exploration was passed down through the generations by her late grandmother's encouragement to seek silence and solitude to hear the land. Lynne Hardy (she/her) is a Navajo artist raised in Grey Mountain and Flagstaff, AZ. She creates modern, colorful, illustrated depictions of her indigenous people and customs.

I am not an American Indian. I have worked as a teacher with the Umaha, (Omaha)Ponca, Sioux, and Winnebago Tribes in the state of Nebraska. They taught me so much. I am still learning everyday. I have been to several Pow-Pow's not just in Nebraska but in South Dakota and Iowa. I maintain contact with many of my adult parents, grandparents, students and their children.
