PDF Dark Mode — But Better. Night PDF is a lightweight extension that inverts the colors of any PDF you open in Chrome. It gives you a comfortable dark reading experience without eye strain, lag, or the visual bugs common in other extensions. Unlike other tools that rely on clunky DOM hacks or force you to use third-party PDF viewers, Night PDF uses a hardware-accelerated "Smart Glass" overlay. It applies directly to Chrome’s native PDF viewer, meaning search, zoom, and print functions continue to work perfectly. [I] Why Night PDF is Different • Color-Preserving Math: Standard dark modes ruin images by turning reds into cyan and greens into magenta. Night PDF uses a hue-rotation algorithm to ensure your charts, images, and highlighted text retain their original colors. • Focus Curtains: Inverting a PDF usually turns the dark-grey background margins into a blinding light-grey.
