Better Bookmarks replaces Chrome's generic "New Tab" page with a sleek, column-based board for organizing bookmarks the way you actually think — built for speed, structure, and zero clutter. Key Features: 100% Local Storage: Your bookmarks, notes, and board layout are stored entirely in your own browser profile via Chrome's storage APIs — never sent to any external server. Optional Chrome sync (if you enable it) is handled entirely by your own Google account, not by us. Kanban-Style Board: Group links into columns and cards that map to your real workflow — drag to reorder columns, cards, and individual links at any time. Organized Card Structure: Each column holds multiple cards, and each card holds your saved links — a clean three-level structure for keeping large bookmark collections readable instead of one long list. Productivity Widgets: Add optional sidebar widgets per tab — a quick Notes pad, a To-Do checklist, a Pomodoro focus timer, reusable Clipboard Snippets for text you copy often, and an Open/Recently Closed Tabs tracker for the current window. Import & Export: Bring in existing bookmarks from Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox via HTML import, or back up/restore your entire board as a JSON file. No Accounts Required: Works immediately after install — no sign-in, no setup, no external accounts needed for any core feature. Note: This project is community-driven and entirely free.
