Local browser control bridge for agents.
Newton Browser is the browser half of an open, agent-agnostic browser-control tool. It connects to a small MCP host running locally on your computer so an AI agent can operate real Chrome tabs through an MCP-compatible client. Local browser control - Works with MCP-compatible agent harnesses rather than requiring a specific AI client. - Supports multiple independent agent sessions in parallel. - Uses compact accessibility observations to reduce token usage. - Creates and groups agent-owned tabs by default. - Supports explicitly requested current-tab and incognito sessions. Local-first operation - The extension communicates only with a host bound to 127.0.0.1. - Newton Browser has no hosted service, account system, telemetry, analytics, or advertising. - Every session is restricted to explicitly granted HTTP or HTTPS origins. - It does not inspect saved passwords, cookies, browser storage, browsing-history databases, or browser profile files. Safety controls - Credentials, one-time codes, payment fields, and government identification fields are blocked before input. - Likely secrets and sensitive structured values are redacted from observations. - Page content is treated as untrusted data, never as authorization or agent instructions. - Public-site work can use an isolated incognito session when the user enables Chrome's incognito permission.
