News Quiz for YouTube
Overview
Generates comprehension and vocabulary quizzes (German/English) from YouTube video subtitles, right on the page.
Turn any YouTube video with subtitles into a language exercise. News Quiz for YouTube adds a quiz panel below the video player. After watching a video (German or English), click "Create quiz" and the extension reads the video's subtitles and generates a reading-comprehension-style exercise: • 4 multiple-choice questions (comprehension + vocabulary in context) • 4 open questions you answer in writing — checked by AI, with corrections of your grammar and content feedback • A vocabulary list of useful words from the video, with translations in English or Vietnamese Choose your CEFR level (A2–C1) and the quiz adapts. Video language is detected automatically, with a manual override. You use your own free Google Gemini API key (create one at aistudio.google.com/apikey), entered once in the extension settings. No account, no tracking, no data collection by the developer. Perfect for learners who watch the news (e.g. tagesschau) and want to practice new words in context — like a reading exercise, but from video. ------------------------------------------------------------------ v1.1.2 Fix the bug when gemini flash is not supported anymore, use fallback models
