Newey turns any browser tab into a live, translated captioning surface. Press start, and what you hear — a talk, a lecture, a video, a call — appears as translated captions right on top of the page, in real time. WHAT IT DOES Newey listens to your microphone, the audio playing in the current tab, or both at once, and renders translated captions as an overlay on the page you are already looking at. The captions stay visible even when the page goes fullscreen, so a slide deck in presentation mode or a video at full screen keeps its captions. WHY INSTALL IT - Follow talks and lectures in a language you don't speak, without leaving the page or juggling a second window. - Watch videos that have no subtitles — or only subtitles in a language you can't read. - Sit in a live call or a webinar and read along while people speak. - Present to an audience and let them read your words in another language. You don't need to upload a file, wait for processing, or switch to a separate app. It happens as the audio plays. FEATURES - Input source: microphone, tab audio, or both mixed together. - Source language: auto-detected, or pin it manually when you already know it. - Translate into 60 languages. - Captions overlay on any page and survive fullscreen, so presentations and videos keep captions. - Drag captions anywhere on the page; adjust text size; show or hide the original transcript alongside the translation. - Pause and resume without losing your place. - Glossary: apply your saved glossary sets — names, jargon, and product terms are recognized correctly instead of being mangled. Ready-made expert packs (legal, medical, finance, programming, and more) are included; manage your own terms in your newey.ai account. - Session history: after a session ends, keep an encrypted transcript and summary in your account — or mark a session private and keep nothing at all. - Interface available in 30 languages. PRIVACY Your audio is streamed from your browser directly to the speech-recognition service that produces the captions. It is not stored on Newey's servers and is not routed through them. Only sessions you choose to save keep a transcript and summary in your account, encrypted and accessible to you alone; private sessions save nothing. Before your first session, Newey shows you exactly what is collected and asks you to agree. Usage analytics are opt-in and never include caption text, audio, or glossary content. The free plan includes 60 minutes per week (120 minutes per month), one target language at a time, one glossary set, and a small watermark under the captions.
