New Tab Override is a simple, modern, and effective tool that lets you set your New Tab page to exactly what you want. YOU CAN SET YOUR NEW TAB TO - Internal pages: apps, history, bookmarks, blank page, default new tab, etc - Any website: youtube.com, github.com, bing.com, etc - Localhost: localhost:3000, http://127.0.0.1:8080, etc - Local Files: your own custom HTML file (eg, file:///home/fedora-vm/Documents/my-custom-file.html) KEY FEATURES - Modern Dark UI: A sleek design that’s easy on the eyes. - Privacy First: No analytics, no tracking, no external requests—your data never leaves your device. HOW TO USE LOCAL FILES (file://) Chrome blocks file system access by default. To enable local file usage: - Install the extension. - Open chrome://extensions and find New Tab Override extension. - Click Details. - Toggle Allow access to file URLs.
