Open a new tab, start typing. That's it. New Tab Notepad replaces Chrome's new tab page with a full-screen, distraction-free notepad. Your note is always there the moment you open a tab — no clicks, no accounts, no clutter. FEATURES • Autosaves as you type — edits, deletes, and pastes included • Syncs across your Chrome browsers when you're signed in • Notes too long for Chrome's sync limit are kept safely on-device instead of being lost • Open tabs update live, so a stale tab never overwrites newer text • Adjustable font size and a spellcheck toggle (right-click the toolbar icon → Options) • Dark mode, following your system setting • Minimal permissions: just "storage" — no browsing data collected, nothing sent anywhere TIP Chrome hides the bookmarks bar on custom new-tab pages.
