Net Guardian is a browser extension that transparently shows you your true Internet throughput based on your real browsing activity ā not artificial speed tests. Unlike speed test tools that generate synthetic traffic, Net Guardian passively observes resources already loaded by the page and displays live throughput estimates while browsing: š” Live throughput estimates in Mbit/s š Your ISP and country š„ The video resolution you're able to stream (e.g. 1080p, 4K) š§ The CDN serving your content (e.g. Google, Akamai, Cloudflare) HOW IT WORKS Click the extension icon while browsing or streaming to start monitoring. Net Guardian measures your actual download speeds without generating test traffic. When you're done, click "Finish" to see how your speeds compare to other users on your ISP, in your country, and streaming the same content. After navigating to a new page, simply click the icon again to continue monitoring. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT ā Passive measurement ā no synthetic test downloads ā Percentile comparisons ā see where you rank vs. similar users ā CDN-aware ā understand performance across different content providers ā Privacy-first ā no browsing history, no personal data collected š PRIVACY & DATA Net Guardian does not collect personal data, browsing history, or user identifiers. When you click "Finish," only anonymized metrics are sent (your speed, ISP, country, detected CDN, and video resolution) to help build transparency around Internet performance. We do NOT use the webRequest permission ā meaning we cannot intercept or track your web traffic. All measurements use the browser's built-in Performance API. š WHY NET GUARDIAN?
