Tap a word on YouTube or any web page to look it up and send it to your Nekolingo reviews.
Turn the things you already watch and read into language practice. On YouTube, Nekolingo draws a study line under (or over) the video, in sync with playback. Tap any word to see what it means, hear it pronounced, and save it to your review queue. Show your target language, your own language, or both at once. Anywhere else on the web — news articles, blogs, Wikipedia — press the button and double-click any word. Same lookup, same one-tap save. WHAT YOU GET • Tap a word for its meaning, then save it to your Nekolingo reviews • Words you already know fade out, so what's new stands out • Dual subtitles: target language, your own, or both • Position subtitles over the video or below it • Pause at the end of each line, or replay the line you just missed • Pronunciation, with pinyin for Chinese and romaji for Japanese • Ask for a grammar explanation of any sentence you highlight, and keep it in your notes • Save a whole sentence with the word blanked out, for sentence mining • See how common a word is before you decide to learn it BUILT FOR CHINESE AND JAPANESE TOO These languages are written without spaces, so a double-click grabs a whole run of characters rather than a word. Nekolingo splits what you selected into the words it is actually made of and lets you look up each one. YOUR PAGES STAY YOURS Subtitle and page text is read in your browser and discarded when you close the tab. Only the words you choose to save are sent to Nekolingo, along with the one sentence they appeared in. We never receive the transcript of a video or the contents of a page.
