Hush — Clean Video for YouTube

Ctrl+M toggles YouTube controls, timeline, and play/pause animations for an unobstructed video.

Just the video. Hush hides YouTube's player controls so you can enjoy an unobstructed view—even when the video is paused. Press Ctrl+M to switch clean mode on or off, or click Hush's toolbar icon. WHAT HUSH HIDES • The player control bar and time display • The timeline, progress bar, and seek handle • The central play/pause animation that appears when you click the video • The player title strip, control gradients, and tooltips PLAYBACK STILL WORKS Click the video to play or pause as usual. YouTube's keyboard controls remain available when the player has focus. Press Ctrl+M again whenever you want the controls back. YOUR SETTING STAYS WITH YOU Hush remembers whether clean mode is on or off across YouTube tabs, videos, page reloads, and browser restarts. The toolbar badge shows ON or OFF. SIMPLE AND PRIVATE No account, analytics, or tracking. Hush stores only its on/off preference locally in your browser. It does not collect or transmit your browsing history, video information, or personal data. GETTING STARTED Install Hush and refresh any YouTube tabs that were already open. Click the page or video, then press Ctrl+M—or click Hush's toolbar icon. Press Ctrl+M again to restore the controls. If another extension already uses Ctrl+M, manage the assignment at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. Hush also includes a Ctrl+M fallback on YouTube when Chrome leaves its shortcut unassigned. The fallback does not run inside text fields or Chrome's address bar. On macOS, use the Control key. Designed for YouTube's desktop player in normal, theater, and fullscreen views, including supported YouTube embeds. The separate Shorts interface and other video websites are not supported. Captions, buffering indicators, error messages, and ad skip controls are not targeted. Hush is an independent extension and is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
