Overview

Science-Backed Sound Therapy

AudioNotch: clinically proven sound therapy for tinnitus. Designed to reduce the ringing in your ears and provide permanent relief from tinnitus. AudioNotch was validated in a 2026 clinical study. AudioNotch creates personalized "notched sound therapy", a clinically validated tinnitus treatment. It filters out a narrow band of sound around your tinnitus frequency (the pitch of the ringing in your ears). This process is called “notching.” Over time listening to notched sound therapy can lower the volume of your tinnitus. Studies have found that improvements continue after the treatment ends. To get started, use the free tuner to find the pitch (frequency) of your tinnitus. Then create your own custom notched sound therapy from music, white noise, or the included natural soundscapes. One AudioNotch subscription includes all our apps and the website, plus audio notching from compatible apps on Android, Mac, and in Chrome. FEATURES • Notch audio from a music or video tab in real time. • Use the tinnitus frequency saved in your AudioNotch account. • See a live spectrum of the filtered audio and zoom to your notch. • Adjust your listening volume in the extension. • Keep listening when you close the popup. • Stop filtering and restore the original audio when you choose. FREE AND PAID ACCESS The extension is free to install. Notching browser audio requires an AudioNotch account with active paid access and a saved tinnitus frequency. Existing AudioNotch customers can sign in with their account. The tinnitus frequency tuner on audionotch.com is free to use. THE SCIENCE Notched sound therapy is believed to work through lateral inhibition, a neuroscience phenomenon in which active nerve cells suppress activity in neighboring cells. By stimulating frequencies around your tinnitus pitch, the therapy may reduce the overactivity associated with that pitch. TREATMENT PLAN Listen through headphones at a comfortable, safe volume. Start with one hour daily, divided into shorter sessions if preferred, and gradually increase to two hours daily if comfortable. Recheck your tinnitus pitch weekly. If it changes, update your frequency and create new notched sound therapy. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO WORK? Improvements may develop gradually over weeks or months of regular listening. Results and the time needed to notice a change vary from person to person. Accurately identifying your tinnitus pitch (a process called tuning) helps ensure your therapy targets the correct frequency. NOTCH AUDIO IN CHROME 1. Sign in at audionotch.com in the same Chrome profile and save your tinnitus frequency. 2. Open a music or video tab, then open AudioNotch and choose “Notch this tab”. 3. Adjust the listening volume to a comfortable level. Filtering continues when you close the popup. Choose “Stop & restore original audio” to stop. Stop filtering before switching to another tab. COMPATIBILITY Requires desktop Chrome 116 or newer. AudioNotch filters one browser tab at a time. It does not filter separate desktop or mobile apps. Some websites and protected players may prevent audio capture or provide no audio. PRIVACY Audio is processed in your browser. AudioNotch does not save or upload your audio. The extension uses your existing AudioNotch sign-in to check access and load your saved frequency. Usage and diagnostic reports include random identifiers and technical event data. They do not include audio, browsing history, page contents, or account details. Privacy Policy: https://audionotch.com/legal/
