Overview

Reveal and hide password fields with global, per-site, and click-only controls for QA and web development.

Password Field Inspector is a focused QA and web-development utility for checking password inputs without repeatedly editing page markup. Choose the workflow that matches the task: - Always everywhere for automatic reveal on supported pages. - Selected sites only for an exact-origin allowlist. - On click only for manual, page-by-page control. - Hide or reveal the current page without changing the saved mode. - Include dynamic fields, accessible frames, and open shadow roots. The extension works locally. It changes only the input type attribute and never reads, stores, copies, logs, or transmits password values. There are no network requests, analytics, ads, remote code, or third-party services. Restricted Chrome pages and closed shadow roots cannot be inspected. Only values already present in a password field can be revealed. This does not recover forgotten passwords or read saved passwords from your browser account. To get started, open a normal website, allow the extension access to that site, and choose Reveal in the popup. Reload a tab that was open before installation. The selected mode controls when reveal runs; Chrome site-access settings control where it is allowed to run. Access is needed to change the field's display type. Before a standard form submission, revealed fields return to their original type to help preserve sign-in compatibility. The popup explains this pause and lets you reveal them again. If a custom sign-in flow still fails, hide the fields before signing in, exclude that site, or use On click only. Need help? Contact support@passfield.ru with your browser version, site address without private parameters, and the steps to reproduce. Never include passwords or screenshots of filled password fields.
