Narrate brings Microsoft Edge's read-aloud experience to Chrome. • Reads any page — articles, docs, dashboards, web apps. Not just article-shaped pages. • Highlights each word as it is spoken and auto-scrolls to follow along. • Double-click anywhere to jump there and continue reading from that sentence. • Read just a selection — select text, right-click, "Read selection aloud". • Built-in reader view — strip the page for clean typography and read it there. • Make it yours — per-site voice and speed preferences, and a highlight color you choose, on the options page. • On-device voices. No account, no API key, no network calls. Nothing you read ever leaves your computer. Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+U to start/stop. Known limits: the highest-quality voices Chrome exposes are US English; other languages fall back to lower-quality system voices. Text drawn into images or canvas cannot be read by any extension.
