Two blank tabs opened each time extension is used

Having problems with this extension. Every time I open a new tab (clicking the "+" at the upper right, or using CTRL+T), not one, but two blank tabs are opened; the first one is actually a blank tab, the second one is also blank, but rather than presenting a blank address bar, it fills it with "about:blank". The second one is the tab that grabs the focus. Net result: Every time I use this extension, I must then close the second new tab, or click the address bar and delete the "about:blank" text (and I still have two new pages being created every time I use the extension.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Blank New Tab Page icon(s)

Please change the icons so, that they are visible on web browser extension icons area. Currently, if they are white is impossible to see it on white background. Replace wit something, what is visiblee.
