Overview
Swap real names for placeholders before pasting into AI, then unmask the reply. Fully offline. Nothing leaves your device.
NameMask helps you use AI tools without handing over real names. Before you paste a message into ChatGPT, Claude, or any AI chat box, NameMask swaps the names on your list for neutral placeholders like [Name 1]. When the reply comes back, one click puts the real names back exactly where they belong. It works two ways: a full web page you can use or save offline, and a browser extension that adds a small dot to the top-right corner of any text box so you can mask and unmask in place. Built for teachers protecting students and families, teams keeping coworker or client names private, writers who do not want character names leaking, and anyone drafting something sensitive. Private by design: NameMask runs entirely on your device. It has no accounts, no ads, and no servers. Your list of names never leaves your computer. You can turn Wi-Fi off and it still works. Free forever, kept alive by donations.
