Overview
Save your decisions from ChatGPT, Claude & Gemini as short memory for your AI agents. Runs on your laptop.
Save time: don't repeat to your AI agents what you do in the browser. Substrate Memory lets you save important decisions you make in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini as short memories on your laptop. So, when you use Claude Code, Codex or other MCP agents, they can recall relevant memories from Substrate and would not have to restart every chat from the beginning. You need to have a Substrate account. 7-day free trial, no card required HOW IT WORKS Off all the time, until you turn a site on You can select the sites you want to enable Substrate on. Chrome asks you for each site When enabled, Substrate will read the web page you are on and create short memories on your laptop. In AI chats that includes your own messages. If you have Gemini Nano available on your laptop (only supported on some devices), Substrate will use it. Otherwise, it uses a simple set of rules. For all other websites, simply select the text you want to remember, right-click and select "Remember in Substrate" All newly created memories are stored in a side panel. From there you can edit the memories, or untick them to discard them. The first 5 memories are automatically held until you confirm you want to keep them. After that, all new memories are sent to Substrate after a delay you define: - 10 minutes (default) - 1 minute - 1 hour - Immediately - Only after I approve Once enabled, the AI agents connected to Substrate will use these memories when they interact with you. To stop using a memory, simply press the Forget button next to it WHAT IT DOES NOT READ - Passwords and payment info (and text you are typing) - Incognito windows, other tabs, history & cookies - Banking, health, email, messengers, password managers (even if you enable them) - No screenshots, no keylogging WHAT YOU SEND Only memories you don't untick For each such memory you send Memory text (max 600 characters) Page title Website (e.g. github.com) Nothing else: no page, no link On your laptop Sensitive information (keys, tokens, card numbers) is removed Emails & phones are removed by default Names and other personal info is NOT removed Removal is done by pattern, so it may miss things So, the memories are kept for you first Memories are private to your Substrate account. Only you and the agents you connect to can recall them. No analytics, no ads, no remote code The code is not minified - you can see what it does You can pause the extension at any time Login with Substrate, no api keys needed More: trysubstrate.co/chrome Privacy: trysubstrate.co/chrome/privacy Product names belong to their owners.
