MyTradingGuard is a free trading discipline tool that sits between TradingView and your broker. It automatically blocks orders that violate your self-defined risk rules — before they ever reach the broker. No partial fills, no second thoughts. If you've ever broken your own trading rules and regretted it, this extension is for you. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HOW IT WORKS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ When you click Buy or Sell on TradingView, MyTradingGuard intercepts the outgoing order request inside the browser. It checks the order against every active rule. If any rule is violated, the order is silently blocked and you receive a desktop notification explaining why. The entire process happens locally in your browser. No external servers, no proxy, no VPN, no extra software. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 12 CONFIGURABLE RULES ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Every rule is optional — enable only the ones that fit your trading style. 🕐 TIME WINDOWS Define the hours during which you're allowed to trade. Any order placed outside your windows is automatically blocked. Supports multiple non-contiguous windows per day and any timezone. ⏱ COOLDOWN AFTER TRADE Force a mandatory pause (in minutes) after each completed trade. Prevents revenge trading — the impulse to re-enter immediately after a loss. # MAX DAILY TRADES Set a hard cap on the number of round-trip trades per session. Once hit, all orders are blocked until the next trading day. ↓ MAX LOSING TRADES Stop trading after a fixed number of losing trades. Prevents the losing-streak spiral. □ MAX ORDER SIZE Cap contracts per order and prevent gradual position accumulation beyond your limit. Tracks your net position algebraically — closing orders that reduce exposure are always allowed. The dashboard shows a live progress bar (e.g. "2 / 3 contracts") and the rule turns red when your position reaches the limit. 🏷 ALLOWED TICKERS Restrict trading to a whitelist of symbols. Only orders on the tickers you list are accepted — every other symbol is blocked. Matches are case-insensitive (e.g. AAPL, MNQM2026, EURUSD). Ideal for staying focused on a specific contract or a single instrument. 🛡 NO AVERAGING DOWN Blocks orders that would increase the size of a currently-losing open position. Adding size to a losing trade — just to lower your average entry price — is one of the fastest ways to turn a manageable loss into a blown account. Only allows scaling in after the market has confirmed your direction. 📉 MAX TRAILING DRAWDOWN Protect your intraday gains. The extension tracks the highest P&L reached during the session. If your P&L drops too far from that peak, trading stops. $ MAX DAILY LOSS Hard stop when your realized P&L crosses your loss floor. Enter your maximum tolerated loss in dollars — when it's hit, orders are blocked for the rest of the day. 🎯 MAX DAILY PROFIT Lock in your gains. When your realized P&L reaches your target, trading stops. Prevents the common mistake of giving back profits by overtrading after a good session. 📊 CONSISTENCY Limits daily profit to a percentage of your overall profit target, so no single winning day dominates your track record. Essential for prop firm evaluations that require consistent performance. Disabled by default. 📰 HIGH IMPACT NEWS Automatically blocks orders 5 minutes before and after major economic releases (CPI, NFP, FOMC, and more). Protects you from volatility spikes around news events. Data sourced from the ForexFactory economic calendar. The dashboard shows today's events only — hover the rule to see all scheduled events with past ones visually dimmed. Disabled by default. ⏹ STOP FOR TODAY A manual override button that blocks all trading for the rest of the day. No undo — by design.
